Escalation: The Further Adventures of Me in the Marvel Universe

Yes, it may be deadly, but I have a life too, even in the Marvel Universe. And (since this stuff comes 100% from my dreams) it's a pretty interesting life. I'll try to include evidence with every episode.

Many of the characters here will be unfamiliar to the readers. That's because:

• From one point of view: My adventures have always been subject to reality shift. Throughout this sequence, I merge into a world with different heroes. Try them, you may like them.
• From another point of view: I've tried replacing Marvel and other characters with my own. Wouldn't want to offend the lawyers, after all.

Introduction.

Featuring:

• The Countess. Someone thinks I have powers.
• Aerobic 11. So she tries to exploit me.
• Human Rights Inspection. I survive that, and go monitor some unrelated mayhem.
• The Homecoming Attack. I've been exploited for powers. I must be purged.
• Out of My Life, Mom/The Homecoming II Attack. Having survived that, I need more purging. Not that my mom's paying attention or anything...

First Wave.

Featuring:

• City of Death. My mom still wants to mess with me. Did I mention, my mom's dead?
• Tekno-Otelo. Earth has bigger problems, though. An alien lizard wants to conquer it! And there I am on the battle line.
• Vesper Comes to Dinner. Mystic superhuman creatures are beginning to notice me. Oh joy.

Second Wave.

Featuring:

• Like a Cannonball. I get entangled with the Countess again.
• Running on the Dark Side. I get sucked into an alien war.
• The Skies Belong to DuoPolarity. I make some friends who have a really cool spaceship. When you have that, who needs superhuman powers?
• DuoPolarity to the Rescue. I get to fly the spaceship!
• Tekno-Otelo II. But there's a situation up beyond near-Earth orbit.

Third Wave.

Featuring:

• Dream Vacation. Woo hoo, I get a break.
• Anything for a Buck. But then I have to go back to work.
• DuoPolarity Revisited. Uh oh, universal merge. For the second time.
• The Amazons Mobilize. After the merge, I'm at the mercy of a secret society of warrior women who have their own plans for the crisis.
• The Long Way Home. After the Amazons are done with me, the mystic beings and their earthly allies get their turn.
• Champion of Death. And Death Herself is judging the whole mess.
• Postlude. But then what?

Fourth Wave.

Featuring:

• Hitler Gets Mellow. Okay, the chancellor of 1930s Germany could have gotten the leadership of NATO plus a Nobel Peace Prize if only he'd been less neurotic. So why is he here, looking for me?
• City of the Dead, Revisited: Hitler's former followers are still rowdy. And they're dead. And they've captured some friends of mine.
  • Sunday School of the Dead. It's not fun.
  • Huh? I'm prepared for dead Nazis, but this still takes me by surprise.
  • War Crimes. It's an afterlife trial.
  • Postlude. Might my friends prefer the afterlife?

Biggest Wave.

In which it all hits the fan. Or in this case, the ocean.

Featuring:

• Lucianus Autonomus Championus Federus. About a famous boxer you haven't heard of recently.
• Dreams for Sale. Might there be a war of dreams?
• Forced Upon the Biggest Wave. Somehow, a tsunami hits New Jersey! And there I am. Why am I still alive?
• Interlude. Okay, I'm still alive. But there's still a threat.
• Wild Dogs and Grendels. After the big wave, New Jersey has problems with wild animals.
• Science Club. Hey, those animals are being controlled!
• Me vs. Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Superheroes are being controlled too! And the best person to oppose them... is me. Yay, me.
• The Devil's Web Page. I pay a price for power in battle.
• Vinalhaven. And the price involves exile on a remote island in Maine. Is this the end for me?
