Domination of Eiler: Home The Declaration of Domination What Is the Domination? Latest Fiction The Dominator . |

Skagit Day It's weekend summer fun time again. The neighborhood of Mount Vernon-Washington submitted a (relatively) cheap hotel room on Friday night. The town doesn't have much else to offer normal tourists, but its two breweries will keep the Domination's occupying forces busy for most of the weekend. Weather is 75 degrees, with a weird yellow orb dominating the sky. It's been trying to incinerate Puget Sound for weeks now. Puget Sound is of course a match for it, but this still usually causes the Dominator to hole up in a dark pub. But for Saturday summer fun, a bike ride is in order. The coast is about twelve miles away at La Conner, and twenty at Anacortes, home of Orca-Dominance (www.eilertech.com/domination/blog/17jul2011.txt ). Either town has cute shops, museums, and one more brewery apiece. Being closer and never occupied, La Conner was chosen. Brewery, historical museum, and quilting museum all submitted. Roads in between are straight, flat, nicely paved, and surrounded by farms. It would be like Indiana, if not for all those scenic mountains in the distance. And this neighborhood seems to have more Mexicans at harvest time. It's like Nueva Mexico del Norte. Afterward: nap; pool; steak dinner. And a growler of pear cider to take home. No place within the Domination of Eiler has previously sold pear cider by the half-gallon... Life is good. |
