Status Report, Logical Super-Friday 2013 (or, the Third Day of Glory) The Domination of Eiler has been absorbed in publishing web fiction all this year in the name of the Powernaut, at www.eilertech.com/stories/powernaut/. It's cranked so much on this, it's neglected its own status updates - including things it's written but not published! It is ironic that authors of fiction such as the Powernaut are encouraged to write blogs - but the Powernaut and the Domination of Eiler are known rivals in both their realms. (www.eilertech.com/stories/2005/powerpatrol2.htm#domination ) However, despite what the Powernaut says, the Domination of Eiler has the upper hand in this relationship. The Powernaut may comment himself as he likes, but the Domination of Eiler of course has exclusive rights to Powernaut "author" blogs. The Domination updates for 2013 are finally online. The Domination hereby commands its citizens to go see its Olympia Weekend and Tres de Mayo updates at www.eilertech.com/domination/blog/blog32.php . Big things are happening now, enough to force this Domination update... Tomorrow is the third anniversary of Victory Day 2010! (www.eilertech.com/domination/blog/blog27.htm#30aug2010 ) By the weird rules of software consultancy, the Domination of Eiler engineering force is compelled to take six months off the job after three years on! Others see this same rule and despair. But in the Domination of Eiler, this is cause for rejoicing. The ideal Domination rule for contracting is six months on, six months off. In reality this is more like two years on, two months off, two months on, two years off. Strenuous at times, but still about 50% off time. The current arrangement is roughly 15% off-time. The Domination's resources allow for much more than that. In the Domination of Eiler, this is much like the original Day of Glory. (www.eilertech.com/domination/blog4.htm#25may2006 ) All Hail! The Domination of Eiler fully expects to return to Bothell-Washington for more dominance. However, its practice is to evacuate and be ready to dominate anywhere. It's done this before, and its notes from the last successful time may be prophetic. From www.eilertech.com/domination/blog/blog16.htm in 2008... - "The evacuation plan is to spend one month closing down the regular Domination patrols of (insert name of town here). A church, a gym (or other exercise club), a neighborhood pub (two or three here), a neighborhood association which used to meet at that pub (err, what is this neighborhood association thing?), and a team of chiropractors will each have an interest. For the remainder of (insert name of town)... good luck." Bothell-Washington is booming, but the Domination of Eiler wishes it good lusk anyway. - "After that, the Domination of Eiler will retreat upon its Continental EilerDepot warehouse near (insert name of city here), so as to stow its gear, greet its local allies there, and prepare for work anywhere." Rejoice, Bothell-Washington! If only you can provide climate-controlled storage for the Domination's archives, you shall become the new Continental EilerDepot, and the Domination of Eiler shall thereafter retreat upon you! But one way or another, there is storage to be done. Bothell-Washington is too expensive to live in for six months without a job. - "Thereafter, if all goes well, a (insert name of nearby place) offensive and a goodwill tour of (insert name of faraway place) will follow. After that, the long-awaited offensive against Alaska may finally happen." The Domination of Eiler has already raided Alaska (www.eilertech.com/domination/journal/journal24.htm), so its further conquest can now wait. This year's objective is to bind the Domination's western and eastern realms in a goodwill tour. The big question is whether to travel by way of Alberta or Wyoming to the North Eilerania east coast. Weather constraints would likely require a return trip no further north than New Mexico. Such a trip would qualify as the Domination of Eiler's Second Continental Offensive, like unto 2010. www.eilertech.com/domination/blog/blog27.htm - "But judging from the past, some software consulting job will probably interfere." It must be noted here, the weird rules of software consulting may only give three months off instead of six! In that case, enhancing the Domination of Eiler unto Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon will do. And if the break is the full six months, there may be a job in between, so as to give stimulation and stave off dementia... Some things never change in the Domination of Eiler. The Domination of Eiler used to encourage itself by saying, "This is such as I have never done before!' But now it has to say, "This is such as I do all the time!" This is true for its Powernaut cartooning, and it's true for its real life too. All Hail the Domination of Eiler! |
