That Batman v Superman Movie

It's probably past time when spoiler warnings are needed. The movie blurb itself spoiled some of the movie. (The Domination of Eiler was expecting Darkseid, not Doomsday. And some weird parts of the movie did nothing to discourage that expectation.) But still... Spoiler Warning!

Early on in the movie, the Domination of Eiler's movie reviewer discerned a secret about the DC Cinematic Universe. It works better if it starts in a villain world!

That's right! The DC Comics universe has worlds where the "Justice League" simply competes against other villains for domination of the Earth! On one such world, the leading trinity was Uberman, Owlman, and Power Woman, and they called themselves the Crime Syndicate.

Our Heroes in this movie had the more popular heroic names we know... but they all acted like normal people with superhuman abilities. Superman was in it for (kinky bathtub) love; Batman and Wonder Woman were in it for espionage against Lex Luthor! Speaking of which, Lex Luthor could easily be confused for Evil Jimmy Olsen at first.

In the movie, the proto-Justice League had the proportionate lifesaving skills of... Deadpool! Three heroes; three lives saved. One was a bystander; one was a Loved One of the heroes (like unto Deadpool); and one was a weird opportunity for hero worship in Ciudad Juarez-Mexico on the Day of the Dead. Yeesh. And Superman was standing next to a bomb at one point when lives could have been saved!

But in the end... The monstrous Doomsday was in the movie. That's no spoiler. But Superman vs. Doomsday ended as might well be expected. The Heroes acted heroically to defeat him together. They didn't concentrate on saving lives in that battle, but that's remarkably like the original 1990s comic of Superman vs. Doomsday. (ehh, the 1990s were kind of a rough time for superhero comics. Anyway...)

In the melancholy aftermath, the survivors vowed to band together for more justice. When Batman had some personal time with Lex Luthor, Batman did act more heroically than earlier in the movie. The Domination of Eiler has to wonder... Has the redemption of vigilantes been part of this series plan all along?

It's kind of odd how Superman suddenly went from Inquisition to Hero Treatment, especially how the Inquisition and the Hero bit both ended up. Did Lois Lane do some epic reporting that didn't quite get noted in the movie? And given the Inquisition nature of this movie, is no one questioning that account?

It's also kind of odd how much Batman loves guns, for someone whose parents died by gun violence. Many fans have noted this oddity. Comic books used to make quite a point of how much Batman hates guns.

Plenty of hooks for more Justice League. They could actually start that movie next year, with all those hooks. (And it seems "Cyborg" has hit the big time for good. Not bad for a Teen Titan!)

In short, the Domination of Eiler is pleased it went to catalog this movie for itself and not rely on reviews.
