POWERNAUT 1993!

World Without a Powernaut!

Greeting

Hello, Readers!

I guess the Powernaut is going to be replaced. Ellipsis can do without one, but others are inspired by the concept. So more Powernauts are coming!

In Movies Superhuman Incident S.O.S.! Jeff Goldblatt Disappeared

Bonus Section: 2005 Reprint Commentary from Wyatt Ferguson! So What Happened??

Seeing as how the famous S.O.S. was chosen to provide commentary inside the original series, I've been chosen to provide commentary for the reprint.

So far, it seems to me that some interviewers sent someone to interview Samuel Oliver Stevens based upon her looking kind of like Paula Power. Heh.

Jeff Goldblatt Appeared Jeff Goldblatt Disappeared

Bonus Section: 2005 Reprint Commentary from Wyatt Ferguson! Goldblatt Stunt!

Heh, from what I heard then, Jeff Goldblatt considered the Powernaut movies to be an embarrassment. Someone may have dressed like his movie character to do a stunt, but Mr. Goldblatt wasn't likely to do that.

I *think* we all know differently now. Except, reality shifts. So it could be anything.

Scumblood

Bonus Section: 2005 Reprint Commentary from Wyatt Ferguson! Scummernauts

Oh, my. This looks a lot like people inspired by Scum Death. He was an evil twin of mine, imbued with cosmic power from a cosmic war. I had my own run-in with him, also in 1993. He was known to inspire similar-minded anti-heroes to fight Total Conversion throughout the 1990s. I guess Scummernauts (or "Scumblood") were one of his side projects!

Highblood

Bonus Section: 2005 Reprint Commentary from Wyatt Ferguson! Royalnauts

Now, who might be French royalty inspired by the Powernaut? Perhaps in 1966? Louis the Secret Vichy Boy King?? (Designated Louis XIX of the House of Bourbon, to those who track such things.) And of course he has an entourage - and possibly access to some technological enhancements.

Hypergaard P.O.W.E.R.N.A.U.T. Hyperblood

These, we can be certain are the Hypergaardians from 1966. The strip's interviewee S.O.S. had a feud with them in 1969. Indeed, that's the reason their leader moves around in a hoverchair.

As for "Hyperblood"... well, they are four-dimensional, so they do have four-dimensional blood. Somehow my own ancestors interbred with them once, so *I* have four-dimensional blood also. That explains some of my clan's weird powers.

Powernaut Comics seems to be grouping several alien-related heroes together. There is no shortage of aliens bred to our solar system conditions. We may remember, there is an alien brood-farm on Venus. There may be aliens hovering above to monitor. There may even be some crazy human who's inspired by all this. Since aliens really do exist on our world, can you blame the crazy human?

The Paula Power Effect

Author's Notes:

I confess, this episode should be easy for me because it's either recap or talking heads or posing. But I have not just zipped through it, 'cause it has not always excited me. I'm working on that, by eliminating some "talking head" scenes. (Getting the S.O.S. haircut right, at least helped.) And I intend to put in some artistic tricks for the "posing" scenes. We all want an exciting Powernaut episode, right?
